2007 Hyundai Elantra - Performance

The Elantra's 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 138 horse power. Combined with the easy-shifting five-speed guide, it was enough to get around city. Getting up to highway speeds requires revving the engine high, developing enough disturbance to die out the stereo system. Moving at highway speeds requires a downshift or two, and even then it takes tolerance and moment.

The tires and revocation provide little in the way of audio deadening, so there's a lot of street disturbance at highway speeds. On a continual expand at 75 mph, there was some shimmy in the leader and rattling in the headliner, and the tires came unglued over any significant lumps. Most lightweight vehicles stand up about as well, but a few — specifically the Corolla — execute a bit better.

2007 Hyundai Elantra - Safety

The Insurance Institution for Highway Safety granted the Elantra its highest score, Good, for front accident assessments. As of this composing, IIHS has not examined the car for part effects.

All Elantras come with many precautionary features, such as side-impact safety bags for the top side chairs and part layer safety bags for both series. Four-wheel-disc antilock braking system are also conventional, as are effective go constraints, something hardly ever provided in this section. An electronic stability system is not available. All five chairs have go constraints, and the top side ones ratchet forward for better whiplash protection. Awesome.
